Full-time vanlifer since 2020

Sometimes things are planned for, sometimes they’re not. I was forced into Vanlife during COVID-19 when my business, which relied on importing goods, ended abruptly. After converting my van, I realised, that no matter how well I planned a system charging from Autumn through Winter and into Spring was always going to be an issue while living on the road. This is when I went down the route of researching and testing various designs. This was the birth of The Juicy Brucie cable.

* Yes! There are cheaper products on the market. They generally involve a TYPE-2 EV Plug with a short lead to a hook-up plug which you then have to plug into a bright orange PVC cable designed for campsites and grassy surfaces. EV Cables use a specific cable using a Polymer Rubber outter designed to withstand use on tarmac surfaces with oils and vehicles riding over it.

H07RN-F Cable

Cable with high resistance to mechanical stress. Able to withstand water and weather. For use on work sites, mobile power supplies, EV stations, water treatment plants, hot and cold areas and other harsh industrial environments.

10M Length

I decided that 10 meters was a perfect length for Campervans or Motorhomes to park in the bays alongside the restricted EV bays and still be able to reach the charger without having to feel limited.

Lockable Feature

On the Type-2 plug, I have included a key-lock switch so that you can deter theft when in use. Turning the key enables the charger and locks the cable into place while charging.

13 Amp Charging

The electronics I put inside the cable reduce the EV Charging Station’s power to a standard 13A extension lead found at home. So if you can plug in at home, or campsites, you can plug in at an EV point.
